"Every painting begins with a journey—through landscape, memory, imagination and light."

The Artist

Inspired by the ever-changing relationship between light, atmosphere and landscape, my paintings explore those quiet moments where nature invites us to pause, reflect and reconnect.

Working predominantly in oils on richly textured surfaces, I build each painting through layers of colour, texture and expressive mark-making, allowing every piece to evolve naturally. My aim is never simply to paint a place, but to capture not only a landscape, but the feeling of being there.

There came a point when I knew I was ready for a new chapter. After many successful years in the fashion industry, I felt a growing desire to explore a different creative path, although I had no idea where that journey would start, what it would be or where it would lead. What then began with an introductory art workshop soon evolved into two years of study with an internationally collected fine artist and mentor...where I developed the confidence, techniques and artistic foundations that continue to shape my work today. It was during this time that I discovered not only a passion for painting, but a completely new way of seeing the world.

Although my direction has changed, the principles that shaped my years in fashion—an appreciation for colour, texture, balance and design—remain at the heart of every painting I create. Over time, my own artistic voice has evolved through continual exploration, travel and a deep connection with the landscapes that inspire me. While those early days provided invaluable foundations, my work today is shaped by experience, curiosity and an ongoing desire to capture the atmosphere, colour and emotion of the places that leave a lasting impression on me.

Stories of adventure, exploration and faraway places have fuelled my imagination since childhood. Today, I have been fortunate enough to experience many of those extraordinary landscapes for myself. From the glacial fjords of Patagonia and the mist-covered wilderness of Alaska to the dramatic surreal landscapes of Antarctica and the quiet beauty of the English countryside, every journey has deepened my appreciation of the natural world.

Many of my paintings begin long before the first brushstroke. A changing sky, a walk through the countryside, a windswept coastline, a mountain landscape, a passage from a favourite novel or a fleeting moment captured through the lens of my camera can all become the spark for a new painting. Photography plays an important role in my creative process, preserving those moments of light, atmosphere and composition that later find their way onto the canvas.

When I'm not painting, I'm usually outdoors, walking, travelling or searching for the next landscape that catches my eye, with my camera never far from reach. Somewhere along the way, I realised I had stopped looking at the world as most people do.. Every landscape reveals subtle shifts in light and tone, each one offering inspiration for a future painting.

My work is held in private collections throughout the United Kingdom and internationally, and I am proud to be represented by a West Sussex Art Gallery and selected curated online collections.

Above all, I hope my paintings encourage you to pause for a moment. To notice the light, the colour and the quiet beauty that surrounds us, and perhaps find a piece that not only transforms your home, but becomes part of your own story.
