Beyond British Shores

It is always exciting to see where a painting can find its way beyond the studio. As a British artist, I am particularly pleased to have Pure Shores now on display overseas in Kenya

The painting is inspired by the simplicity of the shoreline — the expanse of sand, the movement of the sea and the changing atmosphere of the sky. I was interested in creating a sense of openness and space through the use of texture and a restrained palette, rather than depicting a particular beach or location.

Having work exhibited in Kenya is a lovely opportunity to see the painting in a very different setting from the galleries and exhibitions I am accustomed to in the UK. There is something fitting about Pure Shores being shown in Watamu, surrounded by the character of the Kenyan coast, even though the work itself was created here in Britain.

The painting is currently exhibited at Textured Art Gallery, Watamu, Kenya, just off Turtle Bay Road alongside work by other artists from around the globe.

Enquiries regarding Pure Shores can be made to Tiziana Pilotti, Gallery Manager, Textured Art Gallery, Blue Moon Mall, Watamu Kenya.
